Chapter 26 - Seen and Unforeseen

Chapter 26 - Seen and Unforeseen

Gryffindor loses the Quidditch match against Hufflepuff 240 to 230. This very night Harry dreams again of the black corridor. The next morning he gets a package with the new issue of the Quibbler together with some fan mails. This causes Prof. Umbridge to issue Educational Decree Number Twenty-seven, which comprises that everyone who owns an issue of the Quibbler will be punished very hard. This decree causes every student and teacher to read the interview without being caught. The teachers show their sympathy to Harry in a few gestures and the students think highly of him again.
That night Harry dreams about Voldemort asking for Avery. Harry is woken by Ron and tells him everything about the dream. Harry’s scar hurts, so he knows that Avery is punished for something. During the next Occlumency lesson Harry is able to perform a shield charm which gives him the chance to see a few memories of Snape’s childhood – which obviously causes tensions between them. During a next try, both see the dark corridor from Harry’s dreams, but for the first time the door opens at the end, which causes an outburst of fury from Prof. Snape. A scream from the Entrance Hall ends the lesson, when Prof. Umbridge expells Sybill Trelawney from the school. Prof. McGonagall calms Trelawney down and tells her, that she is not allowed to teach but doesn’t have to leave Hogwarts. This statement is completely supported by the headmaster who enters the Entrance Hall with the centaur Firenze, the new Divination teacher.
