During the holidays Harry has to do his homework secretly underneath his blanket at the Dursley′s house. He nearly forgot his own birthday as a result of staying with his aunt and uncle. Not until three owls fly into the room, delivering presents, he remembers his birthday again.
Ron’s letter provides a newspaper article proclaiming Arthur Weasley as winner of the Grand Prize of the Daily Prophet and Hermione has bought a Broomstick Servicing Kit for Harry. Hagrid’s parcel contains a biting book about monsters and the annual letter from Hogwarts with the list of books for the next school year, but also with a permission form for the Hogsmeade weekends. Unfortunately Harry needs a signature from a parent or legal guardian to be allowed to go and Harry isn′t likely to think that his uncle will sign the form.
