Hunt The rain lashed against the window of the bedroom when Eileen woke up in the late afternoon. Best requirements for the demon hunt. Because of the rain she wouldn`t be smelled by them that fast. After a long shower Eileen got on her deep black clothes, put on her faceguard and left the house. Her goal was a deserted scrapyard. She couldn`t hear any sound when she overcame the metal fence around the place. She could already smell them. At least about five Windudemons had to be round the area. Behind the stacked wrecks she could cover well. Slowly she skulked towards the centre of the scrapyard with the low administration shack always trying not to make noise. Suddenly a whizzing and fizzling filled the air. A scream, a groaning and the well-known snarl of the Windudemons followed. Evidently humans had been trapped by these beasts. She saw lightnings full of energy from the direction of the administration shack shot onto the stacked wrecks. For a short moment a human silhouette appeared behind the open window of the shack. Thus they were magicians who struggled for life against the Windus. Eileen checked the environment with her senses. The Windus had placed a spell round the shack. With human magic it wasn`t possible to open a passage through the Campi. The magicians were trapped. Eileen sneaked forwards without a noise. Behind a stack of scrap metal she found one of the creatures. It was so sure of having an easy prey in the shack that it didn`t took precautions in account. Eileen had an easy job of it. She tiptoed behind the monster carefully, let a magic ball form in her right hand and pushed it towards the monster. The Windu hadn`t enough time to react, it even didn`t realize it was shot. Being dead it sank to the floor. Eileen scurried forward. The second, third and fourth demon she could kill the same way. Now there was only one monster left. Inside the shack the whimper grew louder. Eileen had to hurry. There. A movement besides one of the wracks in the front. A magic lightning was shot from the covering of the cars to the shack and tore a wide open hole in the corrugated metal. A cry of fear insist on her ears. Eileen creeped nearer to the car. The Windu hadn`t noticed her. Sure of his win and his human prey he tried to shoot another magic lightning on the shack. Eileen beat it to it. Another hit at the shack would destroy it completely and the magicians inside would be lost. The magic energy ball hit the demon shortly before he could aim at his object and killed him by once. “It`s over. The Windus are dead. Is anyone of you hurt?“ Eileen stepped forward from her cover. “Who are you? Are the beasts really dead? Yes, Andrea`s seriously hurt.“ Came a whisper from inside the shack. Eileen hurried to get inside the destroyed part. She saw a young woman who pressed her hands on a big bleeding abdominal wound. The knowledge of dying the next moment was written on her face. Eileen kneeled next to her. She put one hand on the injured`s pale forehead, the other hand on the woman`s bloody hands. Then she concentrated. All round her became unimportant. Her only thought was cure. The young woman didn`t feel pain any more. Bluffed she looked up from Eileen to her companion. Then slowly her abdominal wound closed. New skin formed and only the bloody frazzled clothes showed her terrible injury. “You have to take your companion away from here. She lost a lot of blood and she`s very weak. That spell round the shack doesn`t exist anymore. I open a passage through the Campi. Quick. One of your doctors has to take care of her.“ “Thanks.“ Confused and thankful at once the man hold up his hand towards Eileen. “Who are you?“ Eileen hesitated. She knew the reaction which followed when she revealed her identity. “It doesn`t matter. You have to hurry. Your companion needs medical support.“ She opened a portal for the magicians, turned around and vanished behind a stack of wrecks. Today it was done quickly. She decided to go to Luigi and to order her beloved spaghetti Bolognese al Forno. Luigi was a real artist concerning the preparation of pasta. Besides are in his local small alcoves in which one was unwatched. At the local Eileen opened the door and pushed the dark red velvet curtain aside which should protect guests from draught. Immediately she realized that something was different than usual. The local was totally deserted. No guest, no steward could be seen und also Luigi didn`t step out off behind his bar to welcome her as usual. Eileen`s senses were immediately alarmed. Slowly she put one foot in front of the other. First alcove. She glanced carefully inside. Empty. On a small table she saw a plate with a salad on it and a half eaten pizza. Eileen touched the plate with the pizza. It was still warm. Whatever happened to this guest, it couldn`t happened that long ago. She stepped forward to the next alcove. No one inside, too. Only half eaten meals were on the plates. And so on she went inside the local. Every alcove looked the same. What had happened here? She went towards the kitchen and stopped suddenly. The smell which came from inside the kitchen wasn`t the smell of baked pizza or meat. It was a smell she knew very well since two months. Windudemons. Windudemons had plied their dreadful trade in here. Her hand approached carefully to the swing-door. Eileen opened it a bit and then when she was sure of no living being in there she pushed it completely open. What she saw curdled her blood. Parts of dead bodies were piled upon the long working top standing at the long side of the kitchen where Luigi usually spread his pizza. Blood run on the tiled floor and ran in countless trickles to the drain in the middle of the room. She had to puke. She had to leave this place. She had to kill these monsters. Eileen ran through the kitchen, always watching not to step into a puddle of blood which covered the floor in big numbers and left the horrific place through the backdoor. She wasn`t hungry anymore. At her hideout she stood at the window in her sitting room for a long time and looked thoughtfully into the darkness. She had made the right decision. She never was so sure like in this moment. And the time was near to bring all to an end. Eileen shrugged frightened when someone knocked at the door. She awaited no one. She hadn`t made friends and chose this anonymous apartment building as her hideout because she could be sure that no neighbour talks to her. First she decided to ignore the knocking. At any time her nightly visitor would give up and leave. But the knocking became louder and more demanding. Sighing Eileen went to the door. “What do you want? At this time I don`t let someone come in.“ She wanted to turn around und go back in her sitting room, when she detected a familiar voice. “Open the door. We have to talk to you.“ Dennis. It was Dennis. Eileen`s heart beat in delight and surprise. Her husband stood in front of the door. And he wanted to talk to her. But then her thoughts darkened. Dennis and the other members of his community reckoned her to be a demon. Their coming couldn`t have a pleasant meaning. Eileen put on her cloak, gloves and faceguard and opened the door. Her husband and two other guys she had never seen before stood in front of her. The three of them rushed past her into the apartment. “What do you want?“ Eileen looked directly into Dennis` eyes. How gladly she would like to hug him but the hostile faces of the three men kept her off. “We arrived at the scrapyard when you wanted to leave. We followed you. We have also seen the massacre in the pizzeria. For heavens sake, what had your companions done? In any case. The Great Council requests you to appear in front of them. We will captive you magically und bring you there. We`re three of us. So there`s no need to resist.“ Behind her faceguard Eileen had to smile despite of her sorrow because her husband hated her. Her opponent were three, but she could have beaten them without problems. But she didn`t want to hurt these humans. Furthermore time had come to fulfill her mission. She felt it clearly. So Eileen let them captive her, she had to smile again because of these handcuffs she could have broken without problems. She followed the men through the Campi into a great wood panelled hall. Eileen looked around. Besides them there were other people as well they stared in a hostile way at her. No one spoke a word. Only a few moments later the door at the front end of the hall opened and she was led into a great hall that reminded of an old courtroom. Opposite of her behind long oak tables there sat twelve persons in long black robes. Half of them were men half of them women. They seemed to be very old. She was led to the middle of the room. She felt the room filling behind her with lots of people. “Remove her bonds. Here are enough magicians to guard her.“ One of the black dressed people stood up and looked at her while Dennis removed her magical bonds. “Please put your hood back and remove your mask so that we can see your face.“ “I won`t do this. Time hasn`t come yet.“, Eileen answered. A disbelieving mumbling went through the hall. Apparently no one had figured out she wouldn`t follow their instructions. She recognized one of her guards approaching her. Obviously he wanted to bare her face forcibly. “Stop! Let her.“ At the end of the table an old woman had raised her hand. She spoke to Eileen. “First I want to list up the common facts. You are Eileen, Dennis` wife. Two months ago a Windudemon bit you, you transformed yourself into a Windudemon and since then you`re on the run.“
