Snow and his education to post owl -
Snow and his education to post owl "Clock, clock" "Clock, clock" What is that sound? "Clock, clock" Here it is again, just a little bit brighter! It´s coming from the box with the holes. Wonder what´s in there...? Eggs, owls´ eggs, slightly larger than the normal hens´. There, one of it breaks open, a head looks out of it, quite full with egg shell remnants. It cheeps and calls for his parents, but they did no longer want it, since the egg fell out of the nest and an old man had touched it. That´s how it came to this bird station, was cherished and warmed with red light until the little chick was ready for its life. It shakes, and the remnants of its past dwelling fall into the straw. Now it is free, but also hungry and already it is given its food it has longed for to survive. "Wow, is that tasty!"The small owl´s offspring is pleased and chows its meal down eagerly. But soon it notices that it is full up and closes his eyes. So the snow owl child, who still has brown feathers, has its first deep sleep, from which it wakes up again with a new, even larger hungry feeling. Again, loudly calling for food, it draws attention on itself and again, the carer comes and feeds it. So the snow owl slowly grows up to a noble snow owl and every time his urge to move rises, what is making it difficult to slow it down. Now it already is flying through the larger enclosure into which it has been moved and plays with the other owls there, which are almost all somehow looking different. Some have kept their brown plumage, while others are much smaller and more agile. There he meets the owl Fridolin, one of those smaller and more nimble playing companions, who tells him that although it is nice here, he has got no orders, and always only sees the same. Now Snow, as everyone calls our snow owl, is full of enthusiasm and can no longer wait for the day to come on which he and his friends will be starting to attend to post owl school. But after yet another seven long months, the day has finally come. Along with Fridolin and the other nine owls, he is eagerly waiting for their repeated resettlement. There comes the carer, who takes them away to provide the opportunity for another major step into the world. But now it is their first training, in which they learn to orientate themselves, to land on a specific spot and to wait patiently for their freight. In addition, they always get a full bowl with food for a particularly good performance and an extra silver sickle at the end of each lesson. The collected silver sickles are important for each owl, as Snow learns from Fridolin, because they later can be redeemed. The owl simply needs to take a break at a food agency, knock at the right door with their beak, and the nurses then take the number of sickles - corresponding to the beak knocks - out of the bag. The owls get mice and grains for it and continue their trip after they relaxed extensively. Snow is now even more looking forward to his future work and passes his examination with flying colours. Now he is ready, but where to a job? Before he could agonize about that, he and his friends are in for another move, a journey to London, to "Eeylops Owl Emporium" on the always well-attended Diagon Alley. Every day, dozens of wizards and witches pour into the shop to buy an owl to carry their post. So he has to say goodbye to Fridolin and other dear friends, but one day it´s his turn, to say farewell to the others, because Michael, one of the new first graders from Hogwarts, wants him not only as a post owl but also as a new friend. So he is taken home in a spacious cage in the family´s Anglia. Meanwhile Michael is taking care for him and the first emotional bond arises between them. Then there is the first day of school and the related journey in the Hogwarts Express. Here, it is dark in the wagon with the animal cages, but Snow recognizes some voices of his friends and there is a lively conversation about everything they meanwhile experienced. In the darkness, there also is no fear, although the number of passengers is uncertain. But when the cages are unloaded at Hogwarts, it is apparent how many students prefer owls as their pets. Anyway, after this long journey, the owls have deserved a rest, and after each one is brought into the dorms and provided with food, Snow now closes his eyes. After about two hours he is waken up by loud noise, which comes from nearby. There are many voices to be heard, talking all in a tumble and almost bending over, expressing the amazement of the new students. Then the door swings open and Michael and three other boys come inside. Very excitedly he tells Snow that he has come to Hufflepuff and introduces his new friends him to. But soon he is very tired and before he crawls into bed, he releases Snow to the outside, which he thanks with a benevolent tic tac of his beak. So Snow explores his new environment, looking through the windows from the outside and eventually meets two other owls who show him the Owlery. He finds it is cosy and warm in there and decides to spend at least one night with his friends. The next morning he wakes up quite early. The bright, warm morning sun shines into the Owlery and slowly, the daily routine in school starts. Everyone goes to the lavatories, the Great Hall is filled at breakfast time, shortly after that it will ring to start the first lesson and some of the post owls already have their first orders today, but Snow is still pretty sleepy. He shakes to slowly chase off to the tiredness, cleans his feathers unhurriedly and then it slowly comes to breakfast. Since he is bored after that, he decides to go exploring the site at daytime, and he is amazed how he perceived everything differently in the darkness. The forest is crowded and now no longer as dark and empty as in the previous night. He sees creatures he has never seen before, observing the hustle and bustle from a branching tree. After some time he notices hundreds of post owls who are flying to the Great Hall with packages, letters, and some also with the Daily Prophet. So he flies back into the Owlery, where it currently is relatively calm. After a few minutes his friends come back from their trips and a wild talk about their experiences, the areas, routes and misfortunes starts. In doing so, also that evening a few years ago comes up, when there were found dead unicorns in the forest and Voldemort briefly regained power. Hedwig, Harry Potter´s great snow owl who is currently taking a well-deserved break in the Owlery after fulfilling an order, can tell them much about it. So the day slowly passes, a few owls need to leave the warm dwelling for new orders and Michael comes around in the afternoon in his free hours to give him a letter he should deliver to his parents at home. Thus, he is on the road with the letter and Owl Treats for meals. For there is a second owl with a package on the way to a house close to his, who is already slightly decrepit, he helps her carrying the load home and then he is on target for the house of its owner and friend, Michael. Before he arrives at the doorstep, he loudly hoots to draw attention and immediately, the door is pulled open to let him in. All family members can not wait to hear what Michael writes. When they find out that he has come to Hufflepuff, first there is disagreement and uncertainty, but soon everyone agrees that he and his loyalty and readiness to help are better off in Hufflepuff than in any of the other houses. This and much more his parents write Michael in their response letter that Snow takes back with him the next day, after he has been looked after in the evening and enjoyed a quiet night with a lot of sleep. Since he didn´t eat his Owl Treats on the way there because of the other owl with whom he flew to a food agency to be on the safe side, he now decides to enjoy them on the way back which is a lot faster. Anyway, he is pleased about the sickles from his wizard family and wants to keep them particularly safe. As soon as Snow returns to Hogwarts, he brings Michael the letter. Michael can hardly wait and has difficulties to get the letter off of the leg of his beloved friend at all because his hands are shaking with excitement. That almost makes him angry, but eventually he manages it and tears the letter open. After he has read the letter several times, he beams with joy and is happy that his parents are proud of him. He also thanks Snow for being such a good friend, and assures him that he has thought of him every day. But now Michael wants to finally tell his friends the news from home and show them the pictures of his family and after another ten minutes of tender loving care to thank Snow, he decides to go to sleep. So Snow flies back to the Owlery, but having arrived there, he hears to his regret, that the poor old owl he had escorted to close to his home has died that night, because it no longer could regain the strength it needed to fly back. With this sad news, he tries to sleep, but would simply not succeed, and so, the next morning, his friend is totally frightened when he makes a visit to the Owlery and sees him. He decides to rush to his friend at every opportunity to cheer him up. Although Snow could not tell him what makes him so sad, Michael realizes that his friend now needs him more than everything. Thus, their friendship grows closer and Snow feels safe and secure with him as never before, despite the only possible verbal understanding. With the deep friendship, Snow gets over his sadness; and all the problems that the two will experience together, they will cope with together.
